Maya Sikorska-Reymann
The pictorial practice of Maya Sikorska-Reymann focuses on phenomenology and collective memory, engaging with historical and visual references that often intertwine mystical and mythological motifs. It operates between figurative painting and the intersection of abstraction and representation, reactivating these references within contemporary painting.
The artist analyzes the efficacy of forms, symbols, and cultural references, conceiving the image as a space of relations between form and meaning. Titles and textual contexts do not function merely as commentary but expand the pictorial field, contributing to its autonomous visual language.
